Hi friends and welcome to another Tasty Tuesday! I'm so glad you stopped by.
We've got exactly 2 Tasty Tuesday's until Thanksgiving, so this week I wanted to share a non-traditional Thanksgiving dessert for you to make/take to your Thanksgiving gathering! I knew I wanted it to be unique. Not a traditional fruit pie. Pumpkin Pie. Pecan Pie. Something that would please those who turn their heads a the "normal" Thanksgiving treats, or just spice up the dessert table this year.
I'm halfway disappointed because I couldn't think of one. I kept going back to my favorite. My love. Brownie Fudge Pie.
Don't let the pie exterior fool you, it is leading to the chewy, decadent, almost gooey fudge brownie-like center that has a special place in my heart. This pie and I have a serious relationship, and I could not bring myself to bringing you all a lackluster dessert so as not to repeat myself. You deserve the best my friend, and this pie is the very best.
I'm not sure where I got this recipe years ago, all I know is that my life was increasingly happier when it came. I bring this pie every Thanksgiving and Christmas, and sometimes just on a Monday because it's Monday. If you needed any other reason to try this pie, let me tell you it only takes about 10 minutes to throw together if you use a pre-made crust.
So let's get started…you'll need…
9 inch pie crust (homemade or store bought)
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 Tablespoons unsweeetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dump everything except the pie crust into a bowl and combine with the help of a stand or hand mixer. Pour into pie crust and bake at 325 for 25-30 minutes. The key to this pie is to NOT over bake it, you'll lose the chewy-ooey-goodness-factor. And that's my favorite. Serve as is or with a dollop of whipped cream.
I typically make a couple of these, as they will fly off the desert table.
