Maybe it's the way March came in with a bang here-a big wintry one that we are slowly digging out from. Maybe it's the fact that I am in a serious decorating dry spell around the house after the past few holidays. I went all out for Christmas, did a little for Valentines Day (very little) and now it all feels empty and celebration-less. So I've decided snow or no snow outside...inside our home Spring has sprung. Here are my top 10 favorite Spring ideas I'm planning on attempting this year...
1.)
First things first, I'm switching out my throw pillows in our living room. Target has some really great bright ones right now like this one, however I'm on a budget and can easily cover my current throw pillows in some cheap, brightly covered fabric. I love small steps likes this that really do brighten up a room and can be super inexpensive so I can put that money towards another project.
2.)
Next area I will be focusing on is our mantel. Our fireplace/mantel area is actually in our dining room, so it's an area we are in a lot-plus when we entertain it's front and center. I'm loving this Spring mantel from the Burlap and Lace blog, plus she included a super helpful tutorial on how to make practically everything in the photo! I plan on incorporating the pitcher with branches, the window pane with maybe a moss covered initial letter hanging, and some other fun Spring trinkets.
3.)
Let's talk about a happy accident-at Christmas time I desperately wanted a new canister set for the kitchen. Well apparently I talked about it a little too much because both my mother and Mr. got me a set. Oops. It worked out to be perfect though as once of them arrived on our doorstep with the lid broken and World Market customer service insisted we keep the bottom if it was still in tact. From that moment in the middle of the cold Winter I knew-that canister with no lid was going to make the perfect terrarium for our dining room table come Springtime. I don't know much about terrariums so the Pretty Handy Girl's list has been a great help and I cannot wait to put it together!!
4.)
Speaking of indoor plants, last year I filled a window sill with small succulents and ivy's in all kinds of different containers. I started thrift and antique shopping looking for anything cheap and unique and soon had a lovely collection of coffee mugs, tea cups, pencil cups, old coffee cans. All kinds of eclectic beauty. Filled the bottom with small stones/rocks, then soil, then planted away! This was one of my favorite quick decorating projects and I definitely plan on doing it again this year. (I also plan on watering them more so they live. But that's another story for another day)
5.)
I love this look. How simple but beautiful is this?! I think it would work perfectly if you were needing a tall centerpiece or any area of your home that could take something tall like this. Definitely going to go for this one.

Ombre eggs?!?! Seriously ya'll I can hardly stand it. I love these in any clear vase or glass hurricane. And again, so easy.
7.)
I love this Baby's Breath Wreath, so fresh and Spring-y. However I am highly allergic to Baby's Breath so I will probably look around to see if I can find a faux Baby's Breath, which I think would also allow it to last for multiple years instead of when the flowers die. I like the initial letter but will probably look for a larger one. Two Delighted blog has a wonderful tutorial for this look!!

I think the painted mason jar look is great, inexpensive and completely versatile. I'm imagining a cluster of 4-5 on my coffee table with some beautiful full flowers.
9.)
I have a large wall mirror that is very near the front door, so I always like to add a little something to it. Sometimes a word art garland, other times just a pretty, simple garland along the top. This website has some great Spring garlands I'm excited to try out for that space.
10.)
I love decorating with cake stands in the kitchen. This look inspired me to take those cake stands and layer them with grapevine wreaths that I already have and nestle some eggs around it, maybe even a few faux flowers.

There are some pretty ideas here. I'm so not ready for spring decorations yet, but will pin this for later. I just put up our St. Patty's Day decorations and still haven't started our Easter wreath. I feel so much pressure...lol.
ReplyDeleteErlene, I totally understand, I don't really do a whole lot for St. Patricks day so I do tend to skip ahead to Spring a little earlier! Thanks so much for pinning and for stopping by!! P.S-I haven't started on my wreath either :)
