Tasty Tuesday- Cheesy Potatoes

There are some dishes that you could eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and never get tired of.
This is one of those dishes for me.
My mom has made cheesy potatoes as long as I can remember, and for me they are pure comfort food. They are delicious and ridiculously easy. I still remember the first time I invited my in-laws over for dinner soon after the Mr. and I were married. I had planned the menu down perfectly except for the side dish. I couldn't think of one to save my life. I was about to give up and tearfully open a can of green beans in surrender when my sweet mother reminded me...what about cheesy potatoes?
Dinner saved.
My father-in-law all but licked his plate after his third helping and my mother-in-law begged for the recipe.

Try this dish and be amazed friends.

Here's what you'll need...
-1 onion, chopped
-8 ozs. of Cheez Whiz
-12 ozs. Milnot
-2 lbs. frozen cubed hash brown potatoes, slightly thawed (I usually set them on the counter a couple hours before making this)
-1 stick of butter

Begin my melting the margarine, then add the Cheez Whiz and stir so it starts to melt a bit (it won't be perfectly smooth, that's fine). Then add everything else except the potatoes and stir.

Add the potatoes and stir.
Pour in a well-greased 9x13 dish, cover with foil and bake in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour.

    1. Milnot is Evaporated Filled Milk, meaning the butterfat has been removed and has been replaced with soy oil. That's why it isn't the same as just Evaporated Milk. It is available at most grocery stores, but if you can't find it I've heard you can purchase it online at www.onlinestore.smucker.com
Hope this helps! Thanks for stopping by!
