ReplyDeleteMy sweet niece, who was 5 at the time, knew the story of Jesus' resurrection. She said, "He died, but he then he came back to life."
Her dad's grandma died, which of course made her dad sad. Later I heard her pray, "Bless Dad because he's sad, and bless his grandma that she will come back to life."
The knee jerk reaction after the prayer was to explain to her that her great grandma had passed away. She wasn't just coming back to life tomorrow.
And then we realized that it was the same way she talked about Christ's resurrection. She's right. Her great grandma was going to come back to life.
